WHATS THE MATTER WITH MEN TODAY? : Man Beats Wife To Death Over Missing N500

A man in Lagos has allegedly beaten his wife to death over a missing N500 note.
The incident occurred along Oronna Street, Off Puposola Street, Abule Egba, Lagos, yesterday when the 60-year-old man, identified as Gbadebo Elegbede beat his wife, Maria, to death over the missing amount.
It was gathered from the relatives of the deceased that the scuffle between the couple started around 8am when the husband, Gbadebo, purportedly discovered that his N500 was missing and immediately suspected their son as being responsible.
It was learnt that the deceased then stoutly rose in defence of their son, claiming he could not have stolen the money.
The situation, however, degenerated and led to serious argument between the couple, and  the husband was said to have hit the woman with an object and she fell down, bleeding profusely from the mouth.
At that point, it was said their 17-year-old son, identified as Johnson, who his father accused of stealing the N500 came in to behold  his mother in the pool of her own blood.
Sensing danger, the husband then locked up the deceased’s body in their living room, refusing everyone access.
When relatives of the deceased rushed down to the house, it was said the husband reportedly told them he would not let them touch the deceased, saying she belonged to him whether alive or dead.
Some of the relatives who spoke on a condition of anonymity said they were afraid and confused as to what to do since they were not living in Lagos.
“Since he did not allow us see the corpse, we are now back in Ogun State. We are confused as to what to do - whether to report the matter to the police in Ogun State or in Lagos State. The man has been threatening everybody, saying he is a cult member and that no one can touch him.
“The man is notorious for seizing the corpse of his deceased family. When Bisi, the third daughter of the deceased died three years ago, the man seized the corpse and up until now we don’t know where he had buried her body,” one of them said.
